Foton Motor to Showcase All-Star Commercial Vehicle Lineup at Hannover IAA, Advancing Global Expansion

Foton Motor Accelerates Global Expansion with Largest-Ever Lineup at IAA Transportation 2026

IAA Transportation 2026, one of the world’s leading commercial vehicle trade fairs, is set to open on September 14 in Hannover, Germany. Foton Motor, which has ranked first in China’s commercial vehicle industry for 21 consecutive years, will participate with its largest-ever exhibition lineup, highlighting its latest new energy vehicles, proprietary technologies, and global expansion strategy.

Comprehensive Lineup Targets Global Markets

More than 460 Chinese companies are expected to participate in this year’s IAA Transportation, with Foton presenting one of its most extensive product and technology showcases to date.

The company’s lineup will feature seven new energy vehicles and six self-developed core components, demonstrating Foton’s growing focus on electrification and advanced commercial vehicle technologies for international markets.

Among the highlights is the FOTON GALAXUS R9 PHEV, which has completed field testing in Spain, along with the CAVAN C1, which has already been launched in overseas markets. Several other models will make their overseas public debut at the event, including the hydrogen-and-electric-capable CAVAN BEACON heavy truck, the eGALAXUS D3 (Sweeper) medium truck, the DAYSTAR light truck, the TUNLAND V9 PHEV pickup, and the eAURORA bus.

Foton will also showcase six core components developed in-house, including power batteries, heavy-vehicle electric drive axles and electric control systems, light-vehicle electric drive axles, low-voltage vehicle controllers, and megawatt charging systems. The technologies highlight the company’s efforts to develop an integrated new energy ecosystem spanning vehicles, components, and charging infrastructure.

The exhibition will also serve as the backdrop for several major company milestones and announcements, including the global delivery of Foton’s 13 millionth vehicle, the global launch of the BEACON, and the unveiling of the company’s new “European Strategy.”

From Broad Global Coverage to Deeper Market Integration

Foton has ranked first in China’s commercial vehicle exports for 15 consecutive years. Its products and services currently reach more than 140 countries and regions, supported by 32 localized manufacturing facilities around the world.

The company exported approximately 165,000 vehicles in 2025. From January through August 2026, Foton’s overseas exports reached 149,000 units, representing a 44.3% increase compared with the same period a year earlier.

These results reflect Foton’s shift from simply expanding its geographic footprint toward deeper localization and long-term market development. The company is increasingly investing in localized production, service capabilities, parts supply, and charging infrastructure to build more comprehensive support systems in key overseas markets.

Delivering a New Chinese Solution for Global Commercial Vehicles

Foton has developed one of the most comprehensive new energy commercial vehicle portfolios among Chinese manufacturers, covering multiple vehicle categories and powertrain technologies.

Several of the company’s pure-electric light trucks and vans have obtained WVTA certification for the European Union, supporting their entry into European markets. At the same time, CAVAN new energy products are expanding into 15 European countries, as well as high-potential markets including Australia and New Zealand.

Beyond vehicle exports, Foton is strengthening its localized operations across Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The company has established localized manufacturing facilities in these regions and operates 18 regional and national parts centers, creating an integrated support network covering vehicle sales, after-sales service, spare parts, maintenance, and charging.

This approach enables Foton to move beyond a traditional export model and establish a more complete local ecosystem for commercial vehicle customers. By integrating products, manufacturing, service, parts, and energy infrastructure, the company aims to provide solutions tailored to the operating conditions and transportation needs of individual markets.

Entering a New Phase of Systematic Global Expansion

Foton’s participation in IAA Transportation 2026 represents an important milestone in its international development. With its largest-ever product lineup, new energy technologies, proprietary components, and expanded localized capabilities, the company is positioning itself for deeper engagement with global commercial vehicle markets.

Under its overseas “3040” strategy, Foton aims to achieve annual overseas sales of 400,000 vehicles by 2030, with new energy products accounting for 30% of overseas sales.

The strategy signals a new phase in Foton’s international growth — one focused not only on expanding its global presence, but also on strengthening localization, technology development, product competitiveness, and end-to-end customer support.

As demand for cleaner, smarter, and more efficient commercial transportation continues to grow worldwide, Foton is seeking to leverage its expanding new energy portfolio and global operating network to become a stronger player in the international commercial vehicle market.
