TIME Recognition Puts VinFast’s Global Journey in the Spotlight

The World Takes Notice: TIME Recognition Puts Vingroup and VinFast in the Global Spotlight

That journey reached a significant new milestone this year, with Vingroup ranked 340th in TIME’s World’s Best Companies 2026, produced in partnership with research firm Statista. The ranking places Vingroup among the world’s top 350 companies and represents a rise of nearly 500 places from the previous year. It is also the only Vietnamese company to appear on the list for two consecutive years.

A Ranking Built on More Than Growth

TIME and Statista’s ranking looks beyond company size and financial performance. Its methodology evaluates businesses across three key dimensions: revenue growth, employee satisfaction and sustainability transparency. Vingroup achieved an overall score of 81 out of 100, climbing from 817th place globally to 340th.

The financial performance underpinning that rise has been substantial. During the first half of 2026, Vingroup reported consolidated net revenue of VND 222.9 trillion, representing 72 percent year-on-year growth. Profit after tax reached VND 20.904 trillion, more than 4.5 times the figure recorded during the same period in 2025. Growth was driven largely by the Group’s industrial manufacturing and real estate businesses, earning Vingroup an “Outstanding” rating on the revenue metric.

The Group’s performance on employee satisfaction also reflected its growing scale and momentum. Vingroup ranked 398th globally in this category, an improvement of 496 places, as its workforce expanded to approximately 400,000 employees across 12 countries.

Sustainability forms another important part of the picture. Rather than focusing solely on short-term financial performance, Vingroup has increasingly invested in green-transition initiatives, urban development and long-term infrastructure designed to support more sustainable cities and communities.

Vinhomes, the Group’s real estate arm, has taken this approach further through its ESG++ framework, which expands the traditional Environmental, Social and Governance pillars by incorporating Regeneration and Resilience. The model is being applied across urban developments spanning thousands of hectares.

Two new business areas added further momentum to this broader strategy in 2025. In infrastructure, VinSpeed has undertaken high-speed rail projects connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Can Gio and Hanoi with Quang Ninh. In green energy, VinEnergo has launched projects across multiple provinces. Together, these initiatives point to a broader ambition: building the infrastructure and systems — from rail and energy to mobility — that can support a modern, lower-carbon economy.

Making the EV Transition More Accessible

Within this wider ecosystem, VinFast represents one of the clearest expressions of Vingroup’s international ambitions. Its expansion across Asia, North America and Europe is taking the Group’s vision for greener mobility to an increasingly global audience, while placing a Vietnamese automotive brand in direct competition with established players in some of the world’s most mature automotive markets.

For consumers considering a new automotive brand, however, global ambition is only the starting point. The more important question is whether a newcomer can earn the trust required to become part of everyday life.

Research from the McKinsey Center for Future Mobility offers an indication of how consumer attitudes are changing. Its research into European car buyers found that consumers open to considering an Asian market entrant showed a 53 percent likelihood of switching brands when moving to an electric vehicle. In the United Kingdom, that figure rose as high as 63 percent. The findings suggest that brand loyalty is becoming more fluid as consumers make the transition from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles.

That shift creates an opportunity for emerging EV manufacturers. But winning customers requires more than offering a competitive vehicle. It means making electric mobility accessible while establishing the sales, service and ownership infrastructure needed to give customers confidence throughout the ownership journey.

VinFast continues to pursue this objective through an increasingly diverse and accessible product portfolio, with a focus on making electric vehicles easier to adopt and enabling consumers to transition to greener mobility with greater confidence.

In Europe, the company is expanding its presence with vehicles designed around local priorities such as efficiency, design and accessibility. Models including the VF 6 and VF 8 are being complemented by electric buses such as the EB 8 and fully European-certified EB 12, extending VinFast’s contribution beyond passenger vehicles and into the wider transition toward cleaner transportation.

In North America, the company is supporting its expansion through a growing sales and service network and the development of its Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) programme. Together, these initiatives are intended to create a more comprehensive customer ecosystem, extending beyond the vehicle itself to the services, support and ownership experience that increasingly influence purchasing decisions.

A Vietnamese Story with Global Ambitions

Vingroup was the first Vietnamese company to qualify for TIME’s World’s Best Companies list in 2025. VinFast has also received international recognition, including being named among TIME100 Most Influential Companies and Asia-Pacific’s Best Companies of 2025.

Taken together, these milestones point to growing international recognition of Vingroup’s and VinFast’s ambitions, capabilities and expanding global footprint.

The latest TIME recognition arrives as that international presence becomes increasingly visible. For VinFast, the next phase of its journey will be defined not only by the markets it enters, but by its ability to build lasting relationships with customers across continents.

From European cities where the VinFast name is becoming increasingly familiar to North American roads where the company continues to expand its presence and customer ecosystem, the challenge is the same: turning global ambition into everyday relevance and long-term trust.
